Surrogate Cat Dad Helps to Save the Life of Tiny Neonate Kitten

When rescue volunteers realized the single surviving neonatal kitten they were trying to save was taking a turn for the worse, they called on a critical neonatal kitten specialist, Ellen Carozza, a technician at Nova Cat Clinic. She was undernourished and required antibiotics and tube-feeding to kick-start her growth.

Even with Ellen’s expert care, the calico baby constantly searched for a warm furry body that would feel like a mama cat. It was obvious to Ellen that her resident cat, Benny, a veteran surrogate dad to many kittens, would be just the ticket to help this itsy-bitsy infant flourish.

Sweet Benny began working immediately when the wee calico kitten, named Adora Belle, was placed within tongue-distance of him, giving her the feline touch that she craved. The surrogate father cat loves to groom little Adora, and will not let her out of his sight, even while Ellen feeds him. He supervises every activity that involves the teeny orphan.

Each day, petite Adora Belle grows stronger and bigger, doubling in size over the course of a single week, and that is, on a large scale, to the credit of Benny’s encouragement and care. He keeps her safe and warm and secure that she has someone to love her and watch out for her every need.
