A good Samaritan picked up Nico after he escaped from a fur farm in Utah. It happens pretty often because the minks’ cages get worn out, and they get loose.
Minks love water, and every time Nico wakes up, he goes straight into his pool. The water is full of fishing toys and diving toys. Nico never got to experience playing when he was at the fur farm.
Swimming and playing is an instinct that is deeply ingrained in minks. They are like mini otters and spend half of their life in the water.
Megan loves how Nico looks to see her reactions, and he always tries to engage her in playtime. He knows the sound of her car and is always waiting for her when she comes back from work.
When Megan first got Nico, she spent time with him, slowly earning his trust. She sat near him and talked with him. Bit by bit, they worked on more contact, and Nico became more friendly with her.
Megan took him to a river, and he loved exploring the shore and shallow waters. Nico is staying with her forever, and Megan couldn’t imagine her life without him.
