Homeless cats often carry a mistrust of people. That’s why rescue volunteer Gissell was so surprised when the large, handsome tabby jumped up and walked right up to her upon hearing her voice calling out to him. This cat clearly didn’t belong on the street and she made a plan to rectify the situation.
Once she secured an appropriate foster home for the friendly boy, she returned to the spot where she had first seen him. Again, he seemed eager for her attention, coming running at the sound of her voice, and asking for pets. The woman choked up as she said to him, “I’m here to get you today. Today is your day. You have waited long enough.”
When the cat, now named Crookshanks, arrived at rescue organization Little Wanderers NYC, he was treated for parasites and sent to a foster family. Crookshanks makes it clear to everyone he meets that he is grateful for his indoor home, complete with guaranteed meals and catnip.
The part he seems to like the most though, is the love that comes with human companionship. He adores being a lap cat and nuzzling his face into his foster mom’s stomach and chest. The former street cat shows his appreciation by making biscuits and showering his new human friends with plenty of purrs. Welcome to the good life, Crookshanks.
